The MYSON Unisenza PLUS range brings thermostats, radiator controls and smartphone management together in one connected heating system.

Whether you want to control a central heating zone, manage individual radiators or adjust your heating remotely, the range can be configured to suit different requirements. However, each component performs a different role, so it is important to understand what you need before ordering.

In this guide, we explain how the MYSON Unisenza PLUS system works, what is included in the Central Heating Starter Pack and when additional components may be required.

What is MYSON Unisenza PLUS?

MYSON Unisenza PLUS is a wireless heating control system designed to provide convenient and flexible temperature management.

Compatible devices communicate wirelessly, helping to reduce the need for additional control wiring between components. When connected through the Unisenza PLUS Gateway, the system can also be managed remotely using the smartphone app.

The connected range includes:

A single Gateway can support up to 100 compatible end devices, allowing the system to be expanded as required.

What is included in the Central Heating Starter Pack?

The MYSON Unisenza PLUS Central Heating Starter Pack contains the three principal components required to provide smart control of a central heating zone:

1 x Unisenza PLUS Gateway
1 x Unisenza PLUS Thermostat RF
1 x Unisenza PLUS Receiver RF

The pack provides a straightforward starting point for customers who want wireless room-temperature control combined with smartphone app access.

Additional compatible thermostats and electronic thermostatic heads are available separately, allowing the system to be expanded for further rooms or heating zones.

How do the components work together?

The Thermostat RF measures the room temperature and allows the required temperature and heating schedule to be selected.

The Receiver RF connects to the heating system and responds to wireless heating requests. When heat is required, the Receiver enables the connected heat source to operate.

The Gateway connects compatible Unisenza PLUS devices to the internet, making it possible to manage the system through the Unisenza PLUS smartphone app.

Together, these components create a connected control system:

What does the Unisenza PLUS Gateway do?

The Gateway is the central connection point for app-based control.

It connects compatible Unisenza PLUS devices to the internet using Zigbee wireless communication. Once the system has been registered and paired, customers can use the Unisenza PLUS app to monitor temperatures, adjust settings and manage heating schedules remotely.

The Gateway is required when smartphone app control is wanted. It is also required to connect Unisenza PLUS Electronic Thermostatic Heads to the app.

What does the Unisenza PLUS Thermostat RF do?

The Thermostat RF measures and controls the temperature within its designated heating zone.

Because it communicates wirelessly, it can be positioned in a suitable location without requiring control wiring back to the Receiver. One thermostat is normally used for each independently controlled heating zone.

The thermostat can be used as part of the Central Heating Starter Pack or purchased separately when expanding a compatible Unisenza PLUS system.

What does the Unisenza PLUS Receiver RF do?

The Receiver RF provides the connection between the wireless Unisenza PLUS controls and the heat source.

When it receives a heating request from a compatible thermostat or electronic thermostatic head, it enables the heating system to operate. This means the Receiver plays an important role when individual radiator controls need to call for heat rather than simply opening or closing a radiator valve.

Please note: Electrical installation must be completed by a suitably qualified person in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and applicable regulations.

What is an Electronic Thermostatic Head?

The MYSON Unisenza PLUS Electronic Thermostatic Head replaces a compatible manual thermostatic radiator valve head and provides more precise control over an individual radiator.

Each head monitors and regulates the temperature in its room by adjusting the flow through the radiator valve. When connected to the Gateway, the head can be managed through the Unisenza PLUS app.

A separate Thermostat RF is not essential for every electronic-head-controlled room. However, a thermostat may be included where wider room or heating-zone control is required.

Where the electronic thermostatic heads need to request heat from the central heat source, a compatible Receiver RF is also required.

A customer could begin with the Central Heating Starter Pack and subsequently add thermostats for further zones or electronic thermostatic heads for more detailed radiator control.

The system supports up to 100 end devices in total, although the practical configuration will depend on the property, heating system and control requirements.

Can Unisenza PLUS control individual rooms?

Electronic thermostatic heads can provide individual control over compatible radiators, allowing rooms to have different target temperatures and schedules.

This can be useful where rooms are occupied at different times. For example, bedrooms may not require the same heating schedule as a living room or home office.

The Electronic Thermostatic Heads connect through the Gateway rather than through the Thermostat RF. A Receiver RF allows them to request heat from the central heating system when required.

Does the system work with smart home assistants?

The Unisenza PLUS system supports integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Home, allowing compatible heating functions to be controlled using voice commands.

Available functions may depend on the system configuration, app version and connected devices.

Is professional installation required?

The Gateway and battery-powered control devices can be paired by following the manufacturer's setup instructions. However, any Receiver wiring or work involving the boiler, heat source or fixed electrical supply should be completed by a suitably qualified installer.
